There’s Nothing Garbage about Street Trash (2024)
Ryan Kruger’s Street Trash is a rare breed. For a sequel everyone originally thought was a remake, it really shines. So bright, in fact, that it surpasses the original in every way for me.
The first films tone is dark and bleak. It’s characters unlikable, going as far as using rape and necrophilia as a joke on a couple of occasions. An uncomfortable watch that’s notable for its effects. It’s a cult classic, but admittedly it’s not one I can revisit too often.
What Ryan Kruger has done in this situation, was delivered a film that lightens the tone, amps the gore and effects, and actually gives me a cast of characters that I like. If you are a die-hard fan of the original Street trash are probably not going to like this movie, but if you’re a fan of bright fun campy horror films then this is the movie for you.
